Open Volunteer positions for the 2008 Light at the End of the Tunnel marathon
Putting on even a small marathon such as the Light at the End of the Tunnel requires alot of work
on race day, much of which is done by volunteers. For 2008 here are the remaining open race-day
volunteer positions. If you are interested in volunteering for one of these positions, please email race director Brian Pendleton. Volunteers for these
positions will receive a free, transferrable entry into the 2009 Light at the End of the Tunnel
marathon.
Volunteer positions still open for this Sunday's race include:
- Staff Rattlesnake aid station 1-2 people, 10AM-3PM along Cedar Falls Rd off I-90 exit 32 in North Bend
- Dispense water, Gatorade and gel to runners
- Dispense minor first aid supplies (vaseline, band-aids, electrolyte capsules) to runners upon request
- Mix additional Gatorade if needed
- After last runner, drive aid station materials back to finish area
- Vehicle needed. Cell phone helpful
- Transportation from and back to finish area available for volunteer(s) w/o vehicle
- Finish support 2 people at Finish area, 44500 SE Tanner Rd in North Bend
- One volunteer needed 7AM-12PM
- One volunteer needed 11AM-4PM.
- Hand out runner flashlight bags and drop bags
- Hand out runner T-shirts
- Hand out runner medals
- Prepare and dispense finish area food (watermelon, chips, pb&j sandwiches, granola bars)
- Assist with recording runner finishing times
- Shuttle runners who parked at the start, back to their cars
