I ride down to the village from the Davis farm on a bicycle with a faulty rear brake. I make it
down the hill without mishap despite the faulty brake, but once at the schoolyard in the village I
realize that I need to vote but have left my ballot back up on the hill. I do not have time to go
back and retrieve it so instead I go across the street and deposit a partial set of toy wooden
blocks in one of a number of large open wooden boxes. Someone else will have to supply the rest of
the set of blocks.
This dream appears to be about trying to wrap up unfinished business before I die. My disability
does not prevent me from doing that but I nonetheless am unable to accomplish everything I want to.
Some things will simply not get done and others though incomplete will leave a something behind to
perhaps be completed, or at least be appreciated, by someone else. Voting may represent things I am
responsible for, duties perhaps. The toy blocks recall my childhood when for a time I loved to
build things with them. They may represent the creative activities I have profoundly enjoyed such
as photography, writing, painting, polishing rocks and such. In all of these areas I would have done
more if I'd had time.
