Photos from hike into the Coyote Buttes North area from Wire Pass, UT/AZ
Coyote Buttes North is an area of fantastic sandstone formations south of the Wire Pass trailhead to Buckskin Gulch. A permit from the BLM Pariah ranger station is required to enter the area and access is restricted to about 30 people per day. The highlight is a short wind-carved gully of striped sandstone called "The Wave" but there are many other amazing oddites to discover in the area. We wandered around for about seven hours taking photographs and marveling at the strange structures eroded in the sandstone by wind and water.
