Here we are part way up the big hill on the course, though it wasn't as big as the climb up to Spooner lake in the last 4 miles of day 1. After trading places with Heath Bryant, on the right, several times, I challenged him to race me to the top of the hill. He won but we ran together until mile 20, talking about running and Jesus and about similarities between the SDA and LDS churches, I representing the former and he the latter. Heath was running his first marathon, after spending the past year in missionary service in the Lake Tahoe area.
