Inside, Richardson's Ranch thundereggs have a shell of orange-brown jasper around a core of agate and/or opal in various formations. This one has tubes of brown and black agate in a blue field. The pale-gray horizontal layers near the top of the egg in the photo would have formed in the bottom of the cavity, so this egg is upside-down.
