Our second day in our August trip the conditions were rough - 5-8' swells and 1-3+' seas. Our intention was to motor out a few miles beyond buoy 3 then troll downwind but just as we were about there we hit a big wave and went airborne. When we came down the engine woudn't run properly, kept idling and surging, so we turned around and headed in without fishing.
