Photos from Umtanum hike w/ Tim

Tim and I spent the last Sabbath in April photographing flowers in the Umtanum canyon and up to the top of the ridge. We didn't start up until 10AM so missed the early morning light but stayed until shadows began to fill the canyon. Blue, yellow and pink flowers abounded especially on barren ridgetops and steep gully slopes. High clouds obscured the sun much of the time but sky and air cleared towards evening. I counted birds, though casually, and we startled a bighorn ewe, a mule deer doe and a horned lizard.
