This tall shino vase came out particularly well. Because it was close to other pots in the kiln, the shino turned a rust color in places on the outside of the vase. Also, due to the thickness of the glaze, it began to crawl along the lip where I sprayed a mixture of ash and water. The photo on the right illustrates how the shino glaze turned red and crawled where gases became concentrated inside the pot during firing.
